Each-Way Accumulator Calculator

Model equal win and place stakes, adjusted place odds and total returns when every selection wins or all qualify for a place.

How it works & examples

Understand the calculation

An each-way accumulator consists of two separate bets

The stake-per-part input funds a win accumulator and a place accumulator equally. Entering 10 therefore costs 20 in total. With win odds of 5.00 and 4.00 and a one-quarter place fraction, place odds become 2.00 and 1.75. If both selections win, the win part returns 200 and the place part returns 35: total 235, net profit 215.

For a multi-leg ticket without place fractions, compare the ordinary compounded payout in Parlay Calculator: Combined Odds & Payout.

If one selection only places and neither loses, the win part fails but the place part can return 35. If a selection loses both the win and place conditions, both accumulators fail. Match the fraction and the meaning of a qualifying place to the bookmaker's terms. This model does not automatically resolve non-runners, deductions or dead heats.

Maths & verification

Calculate each-way accumulator win and place returns using decimal odds and a place fraction. Enter actual placing results to compare settlement.

How to use the tool

An each-way accumulator is two accumulators: a win accumulator and a place accumulator, with separate equal stakes.

  1. Enter 2–8 decimal win odds and the bookmaker's place fraction (such as 1/4).
  2. Enter the stake per part, meaning the total initial outlay is twice that stake.
  3. Review all-win and all-place payouts, and choose which selections won, placed or lost for settled returns.

Understanding your result

Two selections at 5.00 and 4.00, each-way 1/4 and 10 per part cost 20. The all-win return is 200 on the win part plus 35 on the place part.

Scope and limitations

Actual bookmaker place terms differ by market, number of runners, dead heats and non-runners. The model assumes one common fraction, all place parts paid on winning picks, no deductions or taxes.

Before you rely on the result

Each-way accumulator: win leg, place leg and settlement maths

An each-way bet is two equal stakes: one on the selection to win and one on it to place. In an accumulator, the win legs combine separately from the place legs, so a selection that only places can kill the win accumulator while leaving the place accumulator alive.

Place odds are derived from the profit portion of the win odds: 1 + (win odds − 1) × place fraction. That is why simply dividing the full decimal odds by four or five gives the wrong result.

A 1/4 place fraction works on profit, not total return

At decimal 5.00, the profit part is 4.00. One quarter of that is 1.00, so the place decimal price becomes 2.00. The original stake component remains 1.00.

Accumulator settlement splits into two products

Selections marked Win continue in both the win and place products. A Place-only selection makes the win product lose but can still contribute its reduced place price to the place product. A losing selection ends both affected chains.

Real each-way terms need more than odds

Paid places, place fraction, dead heat, Rule 4, non-runners and sport-specific settlement can change the return. The calculator assumes one common place fraction and simplified status inputs, so terms must be checked before applying it to a real bet.

Questions about this calculation

What is an each-way accumulator?

It consists of a win accumulator and a place accumulator with separate equal stakes.

What happens if a selection loses?

Both parts lose. If any selection only places, the win accumulator loses while the place part may still pay.

When is Each-Way Accumulator Calculator the right tool?

An each-way accumulator is two accumulators: a win accumulator and a place accumulator, with separate equal stakes.

How should I read the result from Each-Way Accumulator Calculator?

Two selections at 5.00 and 4.00, each-way 1/4 and 10 per part cost 20. The all-win return is 200 on the win part plus 35 on the place part.

What can Each-Way Accumulator Calculator not tell me?
