Odds Boost / Profit Boost EV Calculator
Compare normal odds with a percentage odds or profit boost. Add an optional maximum extra-winnings cap and your own true win probability to measure incremental EV.
How it works & examplesUnderstand the calculation
How odds boost and profit boost EV is calculated
Normal win profit is stake × (decimal odds − 1). The uncapped extra profit is normal win profit × boost percentage. If a max-extra-winnings cap exists, the calculator uses the smaller of those two values.
Before valuing a profit boost, convert the adjusted offer into implied probability using Betting Odds Calculator: Decimal, Fractional, US.
Effective boosted odds = 1 + boosted win profit / stake. Break-even probability is the reciprocal of decimal odds.
Expected P/L = p × gross return if win − stake, where p is your own probability estimate. Incremental EV from the boost equals p × extra profit because the losing outcome is unchanged.
Read a boost as an incremental change to the winning payout, not as free value on the whole stake. Maximum-stake rules, maximum extra winnings, eligible markets and whether the promotion boosts profit or decimal odds can materially change the effective price.

How to use the tool
Measure what a sportsbook odds or profit boost changes mathematically instead of looking only at the advertised percentage.
- Enter stake, original decimal odds and boost percentage.
- If the promotion caps the extra winnings, enter that cap; otherwise leave it at zero for no cap.
- Enter your own estimated true win probability and compare baseline EV, boosted EV and incremental value.
Understanding your result
A 100-unit bet at 2.00 with a 25% profit boost has 100 normal profit and 125 boosted profit, equivalent to decimal odds 2.25. At a 48% win estimate, baseline EV is −4 units while boosted EV is +8 units, an incremental EV gain of 12.
Scope and limitations
This calculator does not estimate the true probability of the selection. Boost eligibility, minimum odds, max stake, parlay restrictions, token expiry, excluded markets, taxes and settlement rules are not modeled.

Odds boost calculator: effective odds, profit cap and EV
An advertised “20% odds boost” or “25% profit boost” is ambiguous unless you know what part of the payout is boosted and whether extra winnings are capped.
This calculator treats the common structure: the returned stake is unchanged and only the profit portion receives the percentage boost.
Profit boost is not the same as multiplying decimal odds
At decimal odds 2.00, a 25% profit boost increases the 1.00 profit portion to 1.25, giving effective decimal odds 2.25. Multiplying 2.00 by 1.25 would incorrectly produce 2.50.
A cap can erase most of a large advertised boost
At high stakes or long odds, an extra-winnings cap can bind. The useful boost becomes min(normal profit × boost rate, cap).
EV still depends on your probability estimate
A better price lowers break-even probability, but it does not create a correct probability forecast. The calculator deliberately keeps your probability input separate from sportsbook odds.
Questions about this calculation
Is a 25% profit boost the same as increasing decimal odds by 25%?
No. The boost normally applies to the profit portion, not to the returned stake. Decimal 2.00 with a 25% profit boost becomes an effective 2.25, not 2.50.
Why can a boost still have negative EV?
If your true win probability is below the boosted break-even probability, the boosted bet remains negative expectation even though the offer improves the price.
