How it works & examplesUnderstand the calculation
From a bonus offer to the actual wagering requirement
Start by identifying the base of the requirement. A 50-unit bonus at 30× bonus-only wagering needs 1,500 units of qualifying wagers. If the same multiplier applies to a 50-unit deposit plus that bonus, the target becomes 3,000. These two offers can look similar in a headline but require very different amounts of play.
Required bonus turnover is not the same as economic benefit; estimate expected play cost with Sticky Bonus Wagering & EV Calculator.
Contribution is a second adjustment. A game contributing 50% requires twice the actual turnover to produce the same qualifying amount. Neither turnover nor the bonus balance is automatically withdrawable money. Use the calculation to compare written conditions, then check excluded games, maximum stakes, deadlines and withdrawal restrictions in the actual offer.

Model assumptions: No. Virtual games use declared teaching models. Verify any actual operator’s payout rules independently.
Bonus wagering: turnover is not a deposit
Nominal wagering is the selected qualifying base multiplied by the requirement. Divide it by game contribution to estimate actual gross turnover: a 100-unit bonus at 35× and 20% contribution requires 17,500 units of turnover.
How to interpret the result
“Remaining” subtracts your recorded turnover from the estimated target. “Expected future loss” uses your own assumed edge; it is not a guaranteed loss or a completion cost.
What this calculation cannot tell you: Operator-specific eligibility, restricted games, maximum stakes, offer expiry and withdrawal limits are not checked.
How to use the tool
Calculate the real turnover implied by bonus wagering requirements, including games that count only partially.
- Enter the deposit, bonus amount and whether the requirement applies to bonus alone or deposit plus bonus.
- Set the advertised x multiplier, eligible-game contribution and already completed volume.
- Read both the nominal requirement and actual wagering remaining, then test the assumed house edge.
Understanding your result
A 100-unit bonus with 35× wagering and 20% game contribution requires 3,500 qualifying units, or 17,500 of actual turnover. If 5,000 actual units are already completed, 12,500 remain.
Scope and limitations
Expiry dates, maximum stakes, restricted games, contribution exclusions, withdrawal caps and forfeiture conditions are not evaluated. Expected loss is an average, never an invoice or a guarantee.
Before you rely on the result

Wagering requirements: from headline multiplier to actual turnover
A wagering requirement is incomplete until you know its base and game contribution. A 35× bonus-only offer and a 35× deposit-plus-bonus offer can require very different turnover even though the headline multiplier is identical.
Nominal qualifying wagering = wagering base × multiplier. If eligible games contribute c, actual turnover required = nominal wagering / c. Subtract already completed eligible turnover only after using the same contribution basis.
Why the wagering base changes the result
With a 100 deposit and 100 bonus, 35× bonus-only wagering requires 3,500 qualifying units. If the same 35× applies to deposit + bonus, the requirement doubles to 7,000.
| Offer structure | Base | 35× qualifying wagering |
|---|---|---|
| 100 bonus only | 100 | 3,500 |
| 100 deposit + 100 bonus | 200 | 7,000 |
| 50 bonus only | 50 | 1,750 |
Game contribution can multiply real turnover
If a game contributes 20%, only 0.20 of each unit wagered advances the requirement. A 3,500 qualifying target therefore needs 17,500 units of actual turnover at 20% contribution, 7,000 at 50%, and 3,500 at 100%.
| Contribution | Actual turnover for 3,500 qualifying |
|---|---|
| 100% | 3,500 |
| 50% | 7,000 |
| 20% | 17,500 |
| 10% | 35,000 |
Terms the calculator cannot infer
Maximum bet rules, excluded games, expiry, bonus forfeiture, maximum cashout, withdrawal restrictions and changing contribution rates can dominate the practical result. The calculator prices the written arithmetic; it does not certify that an offer is clearable or profitable.
Translate bonus terms into real turnover
Use this when
A bonus has a multiplier and possibly partial game contribution.
Read the result like this
Use actual required turnover, not only the headline multiplier; 20× at 10% contribution behaves like 200× effective turnover.
Common mistake
Applying the multiplier to the wrong base (bonus vs deposit+bonus) can change the answer materially.
Worked example
A 100-unit bonus with 35x bonus-only wagering requires 3,500 credited units. If the chosen game contributes 20%, actual gross turnover must reach 3,500 / 0.20 = 17,500 units before considering completed wagering.
Is modeled expected loss the same as the amount I will lose?
No. Expected loss is a statistical average based on an assumed game edge; actual session results, caps and bonus terms can vary greatly.
Questions about this calculation
What does 20% game contribution mean?
Only one fifth of each eligible unit wagered advances the rollover counter, so required turnover is multiplied by five.
Why can a no-deposit bonus still be expensive to clear?
The nominal wagering multiplier and eligible-game contributions can require substantial play regardless of the original deposit.
When is Bonus Wagering Requirements Calculator the right tool?
Calculate the real turnover implied by bonus wagering requirements, including games that count only partially.
How should I read the result from Bonus Wagering Requirements Calculator?
A 100-unit bonus with 35× wagering and 20% game contribution requires 3,500 qualifying units, or 17,500 of actual turnover. If 5,000 actual units are already completed, 12,500 remain.
What can Bonus Wagering Requirements Calculator not tell me?
Expiry dates, maximum stakes, restricted games, contribution exclusions, withdrawal caps and forfeiture conditions are not evaluated. Expected loss is an average, never an invoice or a guarantee.
