Free Spins Value Calculator
Calculate expected gross slot winnings from promotional spins, then model turnover costs and optional winnings caps. Actual redeemable value depends on casino rules.
How it works & examplesUnderstand the calculation
The value of free spins is not their nominal bet total
One hundred promotional spins at 0.20 units represent 20 units of nominal stakes. With an assumed 96% RTP, theoretical gross winnings are 19.20, not a guaranteed 20-unit cash prize. The result is an average under the entered payout model; a particular set of spins can return much less or much more.
Free spins are only one part of promotion value; test any attached wagering assumptions in Sticky Bonus Wagering & EV Calculator.
Wagering on the winnings introduces a further scenario. Applying a cap to the average is only an illustration: the average of capped random prizes cannot generally be recovered from RTP alone. You would need the payout distribution to calculate that expectation. This tool therefore separates theoretical gross winnings from illustrative capped values and does not claim to predict redeemable cash.
Maths & verification
Estimate free spins' theoretical gross returns from spin count, nominal bet and RTP. Compare wagering and payout caps without promising cashout.

How to use the tool
Free spins are not the same as cash. This model estimates the long-run theoretical gross value before bonus terms.
- Enter how many free spins, the nominal stake per spin and RTP.
- Optionally set the winnings wagering multiple, contribution percentage and a pre-wagering winnings cap (not a final withdrawal cap).
- Compare theoretical winnings, required wager turnover and house-edge cost; do not treat these as guaranteed money.
Understanding your result
100 spins at €0.20 and 96% RTP have theoretical gross winnings of €19.20. If winnings require 20× wagering at 100% contribution, turnover would be €384 based on that illustrative average.
Scope and limitations
Scenario only: min(mean winnings, cap) is not the expected value of capped random winnings. The cap here is applied before wagering, not to final withdrawals. The same RTP is assumed for spins and subsequent play. No payout distribution or risk of running out of balance is modeled.

Free spins value: face value, RTP, wagering cost and caps
Free spins have a play value and an expected winnings value. Play value = spin count × nominal stake per spin. Before bonus restrictions, expected gross winnings = play value × slot RTP.
If winnings must be wagered, those expected winnings become the wagering base in this simplified model. Expected clearing cost is required turnover × house edge. A headline package can therefore have much lower expected value than its face value.
100 free spins at different spin values
At 96% RTP, 100 spins worth 0.10 each represent 10 units of play and 9.60 units of theoretical gross winnings. Doubling the nominal spin value doubles both figures.
| Spins | Value per spin | Play value | Expected gross winnings at 96% RTP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | 0.10 | 10 | 9.60 |
| 100 | 0.20 | 20 | 19.20 |
| 50 | 0.20 | 10 | 9.60 |
| 200 | 0.10 | 20 | 19.20 |
Wagering can consume the theoretical winnings
If expected winnings W must be wagered m times on games with house edge h, simplified expected cost = W × m × h. Break-even requires m × h = 1, so break-even RTP = 1 − 1/m.
| Wagering on winnings | Break-even RTP |
|---|---|
| 20× | 95.00% |
| 25× | 96.00% |
| 35× | 97.14% |
| 40× | 97.50% |
| 45× | 97.78% |
Caps and variance are separate problems
A max-winnings or max-cashout cap can only reduce value, but applying a cap to an average does not reproduce the expected value of a capped random distribution. This calculator is a transparent approximation: it does not simulate slot variance, bust probability, max-bet rules or operator withdrawal conditions.
Estimate the cash-equivalent value of free spins
Use this when
You know spin count, stake per spin and a plausible RTP or expected return assumption.
Read the result like this
Treat the output as expected value, not a withdrawal amount; variance around a small number of spins is large.
Common mistake
Using advertised maximum win instead of expected return massively overstates value.
Questions about this calculation
Is RTP the chance to win on a spin?
No. RTP is the theoretical long-term ratio of payouts to wagers, not the chance of an individual winning spin.
Does this calculator guarantee free-spin profit?
No. It estimates long-run payouts and possible wagering costs using user-entered assumptions.
When is Free Spins Value Calculator the right tool?
Free spins are not the same as cash. This model estimates the long-run theoretical gross value before bonus terms.
How should I read the result from Free Spins Value Calculator?

What can Free Spins Value Calculator not tell me?
Scenario only: min(mean winnings, cap) is not the expected value of capped random winnings. The cap here is applied before wagering, not to final withdrawals. The same RTP is assumed for spins and subsequent play. No payout distribution or risk of running out of balance is modeled.
